The past week has been full of firsts for our little Vera! She started laughing when we tickle her, she took her first trip (also doubles as her first trip out of state), she started talking (cooing), we started taking daily walks to the mail box, she is much better at holding her head up so we can put her in her Bumbo as long as one of us is monitoring her head, and she can jump in her jumperoo (as long as I smash a blanket behind her to help support her back because the seat is still a bit too big for her)!
Our family at Lake Charles, LA. On our way back from Marvin's company crawfish boil!
I put her sunglasses on her that she got for Easter from Grandpa and Grandma Robin. It's so bright outside! She actually doesn't even mind wearing them! YAY!
She loves to sit in her Bumbo. I sit near her the whole time to monitor her head. She is getting much better but still needs a bit of help sometimes. I think she will start spending a bunch of time in here in the future! Thanks Grandma for the Bumbo!
I have put Vera in her Jumperoo several times but she has been much to little. All of a sudden this week, she doesn't need help with her head (because the back of the seat is much higher than the Bumbo) and her feet actually hit the floor! She is not only jumping around, but she is gaining much better control of her hands. She is actually interested in the toys and trying to play with them. Most of her actions are still uncontrolled, but she is trying!
This past week has been full of fun firsts for Vera. She is growing so quickly I can't believe it! I am just trying to document and remember all of them!!! We love our little girl!
As for the parents... Marvin is working hard at HLP Engineering and studying long hours to finish out the semester. It's almost over!!!
I am anxiously waiting a call back on my interview still... and in the mean time I am loving our little girl to pieces, trying to take lots of pictures and write everything down, and studying (which is something I'm not really used to anymore) for my ESL supplemental test coming up on Friday.
ALSO... my best friend Amanda's baby shower was last Thursday! Her mother-in-law Janice, Michelle, and I hosted. It was amazing! Janice is so creative and did a wonderful job with all the decorations and prizes and tons of the food. Michelle made beautiful cakes, brownies, and a really fun game. She also had the shower at her house which was very beautiful! I did a bunch of games and spoiled Amanda with lots of goodies! That was my favorite part! I can't wait until little Aubree arrives! Our girls will have so much fun together!
